WQ: Hashima Island, aka Gunkanjima(Battleship Island). Formally the most densely populated place in Japan (1887 to 1974)...now, a ghost town out at sea 15km away from Nagasaki. Bought by Mitsubishi in 1890 it served as a mining town but was shut down in 1974. In 2005 it is administered to Nagasaki.
In fact the movie Battle Royale II is filmed on this island, as well as referenced in the animes and mangas Midori Days and Get Backers.
